Deepening Taiwan-Japan Cooperation: TACC Introduces Taiwan's Cybersecurity Research Initiatives in Tokyo

The "Taiwan Security Solution Day in Tokyo" was successfully held in Tokyo on June 24, 2024. The event was organized by the Taiwan Information Security Association (TWISA) and supported by the Administration of Digital Industry, Ministry of Digital Affairs. Ten cybersecurity companies from Taiwan also participated in the event, adding diverse industry perspectives. The event aimed to raise cybersecurity awareness and deepen Taiwan-Japan cooperation in cybersecurity. It held significant importance for bilateral exchange and laid a solid foundation for future in-depth collaboration between Taiwan and Japan.

Prof. Wei-Chung Teng, Principal Investigator of TACC, was invited to attend to promote Taiwan's cybersecurity research capabilities. Prof. Teng introduced TACC's seven major research themes and participating universities. He also shared TACC's current international cooperation status, including partnerships with important research institutions such as Japan's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Cybersecurity Hub from the Czech Republic. These international collaborations strengthen Taiwan's cybersecurity research capabilities and enhance Taiwan's overall cybersecurity competitiveness.

Japan's NICT also actively participated in this event. Distinguished Researcher Dr. Koji Nakao delivered an insightful presentation, providing an in-depth analysis of current cyber threats facing Japan and discussing the latest trends in Japanese cybersecurity measures, offering valuable insights to the attendees.
